The Consulate General of Hungary was established in 2004, and since then it acts as a bridge between Hungary and the wider region of Shanghai. The main goal of its activities is promoting Chinese-Hungarian business, tourism, education and cultural cooperation. Economic Affairs Office was established in 2007. The Office renders support to companies from Hungary and from Shanghai and the neighboring provinces to build business relationships, providing them with information and any other services needed.

In the field of Investment Promotion our Office supports Chinese investors to look for investment opportunities in Hungary: provides them with information on Hungarian investment, legal, taxation and financial conditions, recommends investment locations, help to identify Hungarian suppliers and subcontractors, introduces government investment support programs, facilitates to contact Hungarian governmental institutions and authorities.
In the field of Trade Promotion the Office is focusing on to support of Hungarian companies entering Chinese market with their export products (goods, services or technologies). It offers assistance to both start-up and established Hungarian exporters to find their Chinese counterparts for collaboration.
